Vision
City Springs is a lively, walkable district for Sandy Springs residents and visitors alike, strategically located along Roswell Road just outside the Perimeter. History
In 2012, the Sandy Springs City Council adopted a City Center Master Plan to create the City's downtown area. The Community Vision: Promote Community Interaction - creating a safe and welcoming area for all residents. Â From concept on paper to active construction, City Springs' downtown formally opened May 2018 and the district has continued to grow since.
The current City Center Master Plan, adopted in 2012 and updated in 2022, presents a 10-year vision for the City Springs district. The City Center Master Plan includes a walkable grid of streets; a mix of retail, dining and housing; and the addition of a network of green spaces.
The downtown of City Springs — with its green spaces, community events, retail and restaurants — has had a profound impact on the area, rippling to the surrounding 14-acre City Springs Character Area, or neighborhood, identified in The Next Ten, the City's 2017 Comprehensive Plan.
What's Next
Building on this success, the City of Sandy Springs has chosen Regent Partners and Morris & Fellows as its preferred development partner for City Springs II, the development of the parcels just south of Mount Vernon Road across from City Green. Their initial proposal included more restaurants, experiential retail, an upscale boutique hotel, office spaces, limited residential options, additional green spaces, and shared parking facilities. Detailed design plans will be unveiled in the coming months - stay tuned!
