Steve Baskin-Americana with Soul
In April 2020, Atlanta-based singer/songwriter, Steve Baskin released his fourth full-length studio recording, Mind Your Step. The result is a soulful Americana record that references Steve’s early days of playing with Soul greats like Sam Moore, Carla Thomas and Percy Sledge. But it also features a country tone that harkens back to listening to Glenn Campbell, Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride songs on his Dad’s eight-track in the family Monte Carlo as a kid.Recorded by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Mark Neill in South Georgia at Mark’s Soil of the South Studio. The approach for Mind Your Step was about stripping away the technology and getting back to the basics in the studio –real musicians, real instruments and real good songs.
Jack Hamill is a local singer, songwriter, and guitarist who is currently playing venues across the Southeast. Inspired by the harmonies of the Beatles, the lyrics of Bob Dylan, and the energy of Nirvana, Jack began obsessively learning to play the guitar and sing in 2014 during his freshman year of college. Since then, he has developed a knack for writing songs that retain the accessibility of the pop and rock genres with added lyrical complexity. Jack performs both as a solo acoustic artist and with his band, The Jack Hamill Trio. Jack has also embraced the DIY energy of today's musicians, becoming a self-taught recording engineer in order to record his own releases, playing all the instruments himself. He is currently working on his debut EP, "No Heroes Here". Find him on social media at Jack Hamill Music.
