Jazz vocalist Karla Harris, known for dynamic diversity ranging from velvety vulnerability to soul-tinged power, has made a career within the art form she loves, captivating audiences from Portland to Provence. Her performance credits include events such as the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Sarasota Jazz Festival, Portland Jazz Festival, Oregon Coast Jazz Party, Nantucket Arts Festival, Atlanta Jazz Party, and a TED Talk.

She recently performed for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; presented as part of the Arts Across America live performance series, and was just awarded a highly coveted Jazz Road grant through the South Arts foundation for a 2022 summer tour.

Harris’ latest project, Certain Elements, is a suite of original music and cover tunes that joins together her influences of contemporary jazz, Latin, swing and blues. The album charted on the prestigious Jazz Week chart. Renowned O’s Place Jazz Newsletter gave the CD a rating of “96,” making it the #1 rated CD in their 25th anniversary edition of all new releases.  The album’s first single, a lush remake of the ‘60s hit “Cherish,” is played on contemporary jazz radio around the globe and has been featured on Dave Koz’s SiriusXM syndicated program, The Dave Koz Lounge. Three tracks from the CD were added to SiriusXM Radio ’s Real Jazz channel.  The Certain Elements concert is a high-energy show featuring original songs, well-known standards, and pop hits from the 1960s-’90s taking a jazz turn.
